God will make a way

ISAIAH 43:16-19

This Bible verse is not advocating or popularising a program, a chant, or the power of positive thinking. Jesus said in John 14:6, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.

We want you to know that God is able to stitch His creative plans and embroider His love into the fabric of your life as it is. He is a Master in the curation of new realities in your life through your successes and setbacks, as well as your aspirations and the abortion of ambitions you experienced. But to see it happen, you need to know Him intimately.

Imagine, if you chance upon a restaurant that serves only omakase dining, where diners eat whatever the chef decides to put together that day with creative freedom. Wouldn’t you want to first check out the chef’s credentials and reputation before you step into the experience?

God works in ways that transcend all realms. His disregard of conventional methods is reiterated in both v16 - ‘He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters ’- and in v19 - ‘I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.’

In a modern context, the ‘way through the sea’ that God used to rescue the Israelites from land assault represents a new realm, a way that contradicts natural preferences, and a supernatural experience. It is hard to conceive because oftentimes we tend to overemphasize the importance of past experiences, traditions, and trends.

Similarly, “streams in the wasteland” also suggest new opportunities, new sources, or new solutions that God creates - omakase-style. You’re likely to find this line on His menu (paraphrased from Isaiah 43:18): Forget all that you already know and are familiar with - it is nothing compared to what I am going to do!

When your head is buried in the ground, you’re stuck in a mental framework that keeps you from seeing any progress so that it looks like a dead-end and a roadblock everywhere you turn.

But God loves you too much to let you miss out on His best plans that are yet to unfold in your life! Dial down your internal monologue and turn up God’s personal word for you: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now, it springs up; do you not perceive it?

Wherever you are today, God has this promise for you: ‘I am making a way’ (Isaiah 43:19). We are convinced that if you will be alert, wait and trust Him, you will surely see the new thing He is doing in your life!
